Sexual activity of men with localized prostate cancer

80

Introduction. The incidence of erectile dysfunction (ED) after prostate cancer tretment can reach 50% within 5 years. Since low dose rate brachytherapy (LDRBT) is one of the treatment options for prostate cancer (РСа), it is important to assess the patient's initial sexual profile in order to monitor and manage its progress after the procedure.

The aim of the study was to assess the sexual constitution of patients with localised prostate cancer.

Functional results of laparoscopic radical prostatectomy in patients with intermediate-risk prostate cancer

133

Introduction. Prostate cancer is one of the most common malignancies in men. Along with oncological results, functional results of laparoscopic prostatectomy also play an important role.

Management of fibroepithelial tumors of the urinary tract

87

Introduction. Fibroepithelial tumor of the urinary tract is a rare disease of mesenchymal origin, consisting of stroma forming the base of the polyp and fibrovascular tissue covered by an epithelial layer. The diagnosis of fibroepithelial polyp is established during cystoscopy or ureteroscopy and based on histological examination, due to the absence of specific symptoms, laboratory tests, and noninvasive criteria that distinguish it from a malignant neoplasm.

Bladder paraganglioma

126

Introduction. Paragangliomas, also known as chromaffin tumours, are rare neuroendocrine neoplasms arising from paraganglionic tissue located at various sites in the body. These tumours can be either benign or malignant (up to 10% of cases) and their clinical manifestation is often associated with functional activity that may result in the release of catecholamines into the bloodstream. Paragangliomas are most commonly found in the adrenal glands, but can also localise to the bladder region.

External validation of a prognostic model based on inflammatory indices in patients with muscle-invasive bladder cancer

225

Introduction. The prognosis for patients with bladder cancer has traditionally been determined by the disease stage according to the TNM system. However, this classification does not account for individual tumor biology characteristics such as the degree of differentiation, histological and molecular profile which are necessary for accurately predicting individual disease course and response to therapy. This underscores the need to develop additional prognostic tools. The promising way is the study of systemic inflammation markers, whose role in the progression of various malignant neoplasms has been convincingly demonstrated. However, regarding muscle-invasive bladder cancer (MIBC), the prognostic value of inflammatory indices requires clarification, and a validated model based on them is still lacking, which defines the aim of the present study.

Mycobacterial complications of BCG immunotherapy for bladder cancer

735

Introduction. Intravesical immunotherapy with bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is used to treat superficial bladder cancer. The incidence of mycobacterial complications does not exceed 1%, but they can occur with the involvement of the genitourinary and other organs. Aim: to study the clinical and radiological features of tuberculosis associated with intravesical BCG therapy for bladder cancer.

Possibilities of an intraoperative personalized approach to achieve trifecta of outcomes of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy

128

Introduction. Since the introduction of robot-assisted prostatectomy, ongoing improvement of surgical intervention techniques has continued. The effectiveness of the operation is determined by both oncological safety and functional results. The development of an intraoperative per- sonalized approach for the fastest possible of urinary continence recovery and erectile function, without compromising the oncological results of surgery, remains an urgent issue.

Spermatogenesis and sexual function in patients after high-dose brachytherapy for prostate cancer

1155

Introduction. Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most frequently diagnosed oncological disease in men in Russia. In the early stages of localized low- and intermediate risk PCa, radical prostatectomy or various methods of radiation therapy are performed, both approaches demonstrate similar oncological results. The number of cases of PCa at a younger age is increasing, which makes functional outcomes increasingly relevant issues when choosing a treatment approach, in particular, preserving erectile function, and according to some data, fertility.

Possibilities of eliminating complications of radical prostatectomy

727

Introduction. The frequency of intraand postoperative complications of various types of radical prostatectomy (RPE) differs significantly. The discovering of their causes and the search for ways of prevention and treatment has a paramount meaning for modern medicine.

The aim of the study was to evaluate the frequency and structure of complications of RPE, considering the way of its performing.
